About Matthew Wells

I specialise in wedding, social, and portrait photography, together with areas which challenge in different ways, such as landscapes and travel photography.

I have been intensely interested in photography for many years. From a very young age I used to spend time playing with old box cameras from antique stores, and making my own pinhole cameras from cardboard - but don't worry, I don't use them for professional work!

I assure quality by shooting the photographs myself, assisted by my wife. This means the photographs on this website are actually shot by the person who will stand behind the camera on your big day - not an agency photographer or employee. It also means I have a female eye to assist me, ensure I do not miss an opportunity and to help clients get the best form their photographs.

I have full Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance, and can provide certificate on request. I always carry back up equipment of the same high calibre.

I am currently preparing for submission of my panel of work to the British Institute of Professional Photography. The BIPP and the MPA (Master Photographers Association) have stringent admission and qualification criteria, and you must have passed these to appear on their database of approved photographers.

These organisations are not connected to the SWPP / BPPA where anyone can be placed on their database, use their logo, and present themselves as a professional photographer simply for payment of a fee.
